PhotoRejuvenation

PhotoRejuvenation is a cosmetic treatment designed to produce younger and healthier looking skin. As most of us age, we begin to see visible signs of sun damage, time, and lifestyle choices appearing in our complexion. This aged look may include freckles, rosacea, wrinkles, broken capillaries, dark spots, blotchy skin colour, redness of the face and neck, enlarged pore size and uneven pigmentation.

PhotoRejuvenation is the only procedure that can treat vascular redness, the appearance of rosacea, pigmented brown spots, sun damage, skin texture, and collagen structure all at once. With the use of Intense Pulsed Light (IPL™) technology, dramatic improvements can now be accomplished with little or no "downtime" and with very minimal discomfort.

At no. 8 clinic we have several systems available to help produce younger looking, healthier skin:

1. PPx Aesthera: As we age and our skin is exposed to the sun, smoke and other pollutants, it undergoes fundamental changes that result in uneven and blotchy pigmentation, redness, brown spots and unsightly veins. These very visible signs of aging can be addressed with a breakthrough new treatment. Photopneumatic Therapy (PPx) is an innovative new therapy to correct the appearance of damaged skin, leaving skin more youthful and healthy.

2. Intense Pulsed Light offers a very effective treatment for pigmented marks, such as age/liver spots and freckles, that appear on the face and hands. Laser treatment can remove deeper, larger areas of pigmentation such as birthmarks. Both treatments are non-invasive and result in a more even skin tone.

3. CFT is a treatment which combines a mild chemical peel with the benefits of Phototherapy. Dead skin cells are removed from the surface by means of the peel, leaving a fresh and healthy appearance. An Intense Pulsed Light machine is then used to progressively improve the skin tone and texture in the following ways:

• Stimulates collagen and elastin production deep within the dermis, increasing skin elasticity and strength.
• Reduces pigmentation problems, giving skin a more even colour.
• Reduces fine thread veins, thereby reducing general skin redness (known as rosacea).

It is possible to produce softer, smoother skin, more uniform in colour and with less visible pores. Fine lines and wrinkles can be softened and some may disappear. Four to six treatment sessions take place two to three weeks apart. The results are evident at the end of the course of treatments and will continue to improve for some weeks following the course. Further maintenance sessions may be required after a twelve month period, depending on the amount of sun damage in the intervening period.
